Quality Care Express also offers a convenient alternative to a busy emergency department on weekends and evenings when physician offices are closed. Many of the physicians and staff at Quality Care Express are the same familiar medical professionals who serve the community as members of the Scott Memorial Hospital team. The Quality Care Express physicians have clinical support from the Scott Memorial Hospital laboratory and medical imaging professionals. This allows them to treat a variety of conditions including: sprains and minor fractures, sore throats and colds, cuts, scrapes and minor wounds and burns, minor eye injuries and infections. Continuity of care is very important at Quality Care Express. A major benefit for patients is that they can have their medical information forwarded to their Scott Memorial Hospital primary care physicians. “We realize that the optimum care a patient can receive is with the doctor who knows the patient best; this is typically a patient's own family physician,” said Dr. Croasdell. “However, there are times when a patient does not have that relationship established with a family doctor and needs care. We also realize that sometimes it is difficult for the doctor's office to work same day appointments into a busy office schedule.
